Step aside, H&M has finally arrived!

Melbourne truly showed why it's the place to be. Not only for the coffee but for the fashion moving city that we are. H&M a big international clothing store that provides affordable womenswear, menswear, children's wear and also home wears.

The day started off with a 6:45 exact wake up call from my trusty phone (sometimes not trusty at all) alarm. Where I did the mad dash to get ready for the long wait of the H&M Grand Opening line. Through the mad dash to the zombie like behaviour I finally managed to make it to Melbourne Central where I was expected to meet up with a long time friend.

After the long wait we finally made it to back of the line where it wrapped around the front of H&M to the side and up the back along Little Burke Street. The line was moving at a steady rate after the clock stuck 10am and the doors were finally open.

Half way through the line we were faced with the glamorous red carpet that made you feel like a VIP. Red carpet, gold poles with red shinny satin ropes that draped from each pole up to the golden front of the historic GPO building. Large store signs hung brightly in red with store window fronts graced with glamorous mannequins  dress in what H&M was to offer.

Causally standing on the H&M Red carpet.

After a surprising hour and a half to two hour wait (was expecting to be standing in line for much longer) we were guided up the stairs after grabbing free gift bags. As we walked in we were graced with golden rails on the side, a red carpet leading towards the double doors and finally the emaciate marble open planed store of H&M.

Inside the H&M store.
Faced with the mad group of shoppers who walked through every single spot of the store handing bags and bags of clothing. The decor was mixed with a modern take mixed with many of the GPO historical features.

Free goodie bag. Thanks H&M.

Climbing through shoppers and their bags, managed to make my way up to the top level of the H&M store where the menswear and home ware . As expected, I did not manage to have a great look at all the clothing pure to the fact that with the amount of people in the one store there was no way at all. I did however managed to sneak in a few items which I loved and most of all at an affordable price.

My H&M shopping bag. Not the last bag I will tell you that. (Did go back for not only a second visit but a third one also).

Purchases of the day. Two knitted circle scarfs (black & burgundy), one standard grey scarf, a marino wool striped sweater and last but not least a free t-shirt courtesy of H&M.

As much as I loved H&M there was nothing better but to go sit down with some food in your stomach. Overall, the H&M Grand Opening was a truly success. It was great to see international brands that we in Australia, were waiting for! Truly one of my personal top stores that I will be shopping at.
